METABOLOMICS SCIENTIST

We are looking for a bacterial metabolomics scientist to come help us identify compounds with potential commercial and societal value from newly identified bacterial species.

We are a multi-disciplinary team that bring skills in many areas from across the world. We are funded by some of the biggest biotech angels in Europe including Peder Holk Nielsen (Former CEO of Novozymes), Jonathan Milner (Founder of Abcam), Claudio Costamagna (Former CEO of Goldman Sachs Europe) and Hugh Grant (last CEO of Monsanto).

In this role you will join our R&D compound discovery team for the identification of novel compounds from previously unculturable bacteria and support our vision to discover solutions to global issues including the discovery of new antibiotics against resistant bacteria.

 

You should have:

  • An analytical background with a PhD in chemistry, life sciences, or related field 

  • Strong background in HPLC, and LC-MS based metabolomics 

  • Highly motivated and creative individual with an ability to learn and adapt

  • Collaborative drive and good team ethic

Ideal experience:

  • Bacterial metabolomic profiling

  • Transcriptomics sample preparation and analysis

  • Chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, and related sample preparation


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a pipeline for metabolomic profiling of our bacterial library 

  • Optimising our workflow for untargeted novel antibiotic discovery
