Come and join us!

At Bactobio, we’re constantly developing our platform, which stretches from bacterial generation to compound discovery. We use data bioinformatics and data-driven modelling to guide exploration at all stages in our pipeline and to evolve our pipeline over time.

The primary focus of this role is to join the design and engineering of the software side of our platform.

Our aims are to:

  • Engage with lab and data scientists to shape and understand our data requirements.

  • Engineer a platform for managing and navigating data flow, as well as interfacing with lab automation.

  • Ensure we are building interfaces with our users, the diverse group of scientists at Bactobio, in mind.

  • Ensure we are building a robust, flexible, and scalable platform. Our current stack consists predominately of a MySQL database, a python back end, and a python web-based dashboard UI. We also use R for bioinformatics analysis.

  • Cultivate a code base that is a joy to collaborate within. We strive for good practices with sensible implementations: git version control, unit tests, code review, and communication of design decisions.

We’re a growing multidisciplinary team bringing together many areas of expertise, and we’re all learning. If you can see space for yourself to make an immediate impact, and if engaging with our broader endeavour is something that excites you, please get in touch!
