Alexandra studied biochemistry as an undergraduate at the University of Kent. She then completed an MRes in Molecular and Cellular Biosciences at Imperial College London with interest in biotechnology and engineering microbes. Her master’s projects included establishing a Synechocystis and E. coli co-culture and building a CRISPR/MAD7 toolkit for an industrially valuable insect species. She also completed internships in both parasitology and lab automation.

At Bactobio, she will help to support the microbial generation team by running the microbial isolation pipeline for the discovery of novel microbes.

In her free time, she enjoys yoga, podcasts, playing music in a band, and spending time with friends and family.
