Dr Carrie Alderley
Carrie studied biology at the University of Sheffield before starting her PhD at the University of York under the supervision of Dr Ville Friman. Her PhD focusses on biofumigation, an environmentally sustainable alternative to agrochemicals, and its effects on pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacterial communities.
At Bactobio, Carrie is working to optimise the Baccu platform to increase the number and diversity of novel bacteria, as well as screening for high-value chemical producers.
Outside of the lab, Carrie enjoys long-distance running, kayaking and listening to music.
