Oscar obtained his BSc and MSc at Cayetano Heredia University in Peru. After this, he completed his PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Manchester, elucidating the microbial ecology of bioremediation processes. He did a postdoc at Cranfield University, analysing ecological networks of microbial communities to improve our understanding of ecosystem restoration.

At Bactobio, Oscar will work on optimising the microbial generation platform to expand the discovery of novel microbial species.

Outside of work, Oscar’s interests include diverse outdoor activities and exploring historical landmarks in the UK and overseas.
