Dr Thomas Sewell
Senior Scientist
Thomas has recently completed two post-doctoral Research Associate positions at Imperial College London where he used next generation sequencing to better understand the evolution and population dynamics of human and animal fungal pathogens. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology from Aberystwyth University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Plant Pathology from the University of Hertfordshire.
Thomas joined Bactobio in July 2021 and will help establish high-throughput fungicide assays and develop in-house next generation sequencing protocols using the Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform.
In his free time, Thomas enjoys climbing, paddle boarding and walking Dachs - his border collie pup.
