Investors
Dr Joshua Burns
Scientist
Josh studied for his undergraduate in Biological Sciences, followed by an MSc in Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Birmingham. He then completed a PhD at Robert Gordon University focusing on identifying metabolites produced by Streptomyces. Before starting at Bactobio, Josh worked in Syngenta's microbial fermentation team.
At Bactobio, Josh is working on optimising the production of novel bioactive metabolites from previously unculturable microbes.
Outside the lab, Josh enjoys playing tennis, hunting for mushrooms, and attempting to get better at guitar.
