Rebecca Man
Bioinformatics Intern
Rebecca Man is currently completing a PhD in Bioinformatics & Bacterial Genomics at the University of Edinburgh, where she also earned her MSc in Bioinformatics (2020). She holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Southampton (2019).
Rebecca brings research expertise from her PhD studies, where she applies comparative genomics and pangenomics to explore the impact of lateral transduction on the genomic structure of Staphylococcus aureus. Her experience in bacterial genomics and bioinformatics makes her a valuable asset to Bactobio.
At Bactobio, Rebecca is an intern on the Bioinformatics team, where she focuses on optimising the metabarcoding pipeline to improve data accuracy and analysis.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys travelling, skiing, and exploring museums, concerts, and galleries.
