Viktoria Brunner

Bioinformatics Intern

Viktoria is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computational Biology at the University of Oxford. She previously earned an M.Sc. in Systems Biology and a B.Sc. in Biology from ETH Zürich, graduating among the top of her class and receiving an Excellence Scholarship. Her academic journey has been marked by high-impact research and collaboration, including work with Harvard Medical School.


At Bactobio, Viktoria works on enhancing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines, particularly for whole genome sequencing (WGS). She collaborates across teams to integrate cutting-edge tools, ensures robust code documentation, and contributes to Bactobio’s bioinformatics codebase.


Beyond her research, Viktoria is an avid rower, cyclist, and tennis player. She also enjoys discussing science and occasionally indulges her creative side by writing short stories.
