Ayushi is a synthetic biology researcher with advanced training in microbiology and strain engineering. Ayushi completed her MRes in Systems and Synthetic Biology at Imperial College London, where she worked on genome editing in non-model bacterial hosts. She also holds an MSc and a BSc in Microbiology from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Prior to joining Bactobio, she worked as a Research Assistant at Biome Bioplastics, contributing to strain engineering, microbial fermentation, and downstream processing for bioplastic production.

At Bactobio, she works on testing novel antimicrobial compounds against target pathogens, as well as supporting microbial fermentation and downstream processing.

Outside of work, Ayushi enjoys learning languages (currently on her sixth), travelling and eating great food.
