Dr Ke Yan Wen

Senior Scientist

Ke Yan completed her PhD in Synthetic Biology at Imperial College London, developing a cell-free biosensor for P. aeruginosa infections in people with cystic fibrosis. She did her first postdoc at the National University of Singapore, creating a cell-free screening platform for novel enzymatic functions, and a second postdoc at University College London, engineering spatial computation using bacterial colonies.

At Bactobio, Ke Yan works on developing bacterial reporter strains for the screening of active compounds and applying genetic engineering tools to reveal metabolic diversity in novel microbial species.

Outside of the lab, Ke Yan enjoys reading and growing things that she can eat in her garden.
