Romain holds an MSc in Machine Learning from University College London and spent over a decade as a data scientist before completing a PhD in Computational Biology at Imperial College London, where he investigated novel antibacterials produced by archaea, bacteria's overlooked microbial cousin.

At Bactobio, he applies Machine Learning and AI to the company's extensive in-house datasets, accelerating the discovery of natural products from life's untapped reservoirs.

Outside of work, Romain enjoys cycling, tennis, baking bread, and spending time with his family.
