Sandra holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Nottingham and Rothamsted Research, where she focused on chemical ecology, microbiomes, and metabolomics. She brings a strong background in plant-microbe interactions and biotechnology, with particular expertise in microbial bioinoculants and analytical chemistry.

Before joining Bactobio, Sandra held research roles across the UK and Colombia, including as a Research Technician at AGROSAVIA and most recently as a Consultant for the Sustainable Nitrogen Foundation.

At Bactobio, Sandra is a Technician on the Analytical Chemistry team, where she supports compound discovery efforts and contributes to the smooth running of analytical chemistry operations.

Outside of work, Sandra enjoys music, cooking, reading, and staying active through sports like cricket and basketball.
