Vanessa holds an MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from the University of Manchester, following a BSc in Biotechnology. Before joining Bactobio, Vanessa gained experience as an Application Scientist at Dolomite Bio in Cambridge. Her day-to-day responsibilities included preparing NGS libraries, conducting robustness tests on scRNA sequencing, providing customer support and demonstrations, and undertaking market research on competitors.

At Bactobio, as a Microbiology Technician within the Platform team, Vanessa will be invaluable in refining our microbial generation pipeline. Her duties include facilitating the development of the microbial platform, isolating microbes, and preparing libraries for NGS, among other tasks.

Outside work, Vanessa enjoys tending to her plants, playing Mario Kart, and discovering new places.
